The pre-fall collections may not hit stores until July, but that’s no reason not to ponder what we’ll be wanting to wear. These collections are usually the most wearable, but that never stops designers from getting creative. From Thom Browne’s edgy androgynous prep, to Louis Vuitton’s fantasy ski chalet, here are the pre-fall collections that are pretty amazing.
For pre-fall, Kors has upped the luxe factor, introducing metallic brocades. Kors also stays true to his Americana roots with a dose of tailored sportswear. It’s impeccably styled: brooches and sneakers? Who knew?
The new direction of the Vuitton brand is promising. The pre-fall collection truly goes from day to night, featuring an array of looks for everything from après skiing to evening. Also, hello, Vuitton denim!
Valentino debuted their pre-fall collection with a nod to the owl. Their fine-feathered friends are introduced amongst a moody, earthy palette. The collection also includes its fair share of over the top furs and beautiful nudes.
T by Alexander Wang
Alexander Wang’s diffusion line comes into its own with the pre-fall collection. A very neutral palette with deconstructed details is the stuff of my dreams. This collection is elevated while still staying true to its athletic roots.
This pre-fall collection was a stunning progression for the designer. Colorful lace, which is a signature, takes center stage amongst elegant dresses that are destined to go from the runway to the red carpet.
Cushnie et Ochs
The Cushnie et Ochs design duo is pretty famous for perfecting the sexy dress. This season, they introduce a new element: pearls. The fresh embellishments paired with their signature silhouettes prove to be a winning combination.
Thom Browne’s collection is an adaptation of his classic preppy staples. Suiting, and a very patriotic color palette characterize this pre-fall collection. If you can’t make it through next fall without Thom Browne, you’re in luck. The collection is available for pre-order on Moda Operandi.
Kayne puts a playful spin on pre-fall. The designer introduces a punchy floral print and keeps things nice and light, but contrasts the sweetness by mixing it with fur stoles. Have you noticed a pattern here? Get a fur scarf this season! Seriously.
