Spring Layers

Can it be? Is spring finally here? With this climate-driven roller-coaster ride we need some serious transitional outfit inspiration. Follow these stylish layering cues and finally say goodbye to winter for spring!

Nothing says “springtime is here!” Like dreamy watercolor florals. Helena Bordon’s jacket pulls double duty as the statement piece of the outfit and a warming layer.

This street style star took layering and prints to a new level with a wide-striped blazer worn over a contrasting narrow-striped blouse. Then she finished off her menswear look with skinny jeans and edgy, studded brogues.

Lauren Kennedy Malpas gives us another reason to obsess over pink coats. The great thing about a pastel winter coat is that the color is appropriate for spring, but the weight still keeps you warm. Plus, her open-toe heels with pink socks are a fashionable and functional combo.

Chiara Ferragni kept warm in a delicate lace suiting separates by throwing on a long cardigan and edgy cutout boots.

My Style: Belly Baring Tie-Front Tops

Daisy Duke may be known for the tie-front top, but the shirt actually has a long history. As seen on everyone from ‘50s screen sirens (Marilyn Monroe) to ‘90s supermodels (Claudia Schiffer, Guess ads), the top has become as iconic as the blue jean.

I have taken the Midriff and Tie-Front Top trend and combined them to get this sultry look!

Top: This pastel plaid blouse is by Hollister‎. There are many ways to tie a blouse but I decided to make it easy and just tied this shirt high in the front and let it hang lower in the back. I channeled this look in trendy summer hues to get a modern sexy preppy look!

Pants: These crisp white stretch skinny jeans by Vanilla Star‎ are perfect for warm summer nights. I love the fit and want a baby blue pastel pair next!
